“In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, but the lips of the wise will preserve them.”
Proverbs 14:3
The way of the foolish brings on his/her punishment. It is brought on by his/her mouth. But note too that the mouth of the wise protects them. Is this not proof enough that what we say has great importance?
Therefore, daily watch your tongue and let the wisdom of God guide you to what say at all times. Words can bring life to a dead situation, or words can bring death, destruction, or a whole lot of trouble if misused.
For instance; cold words freeze people while warm words loose people, hot words scorch people but cool words calm people, bitter words bite people while kind words sooth people, and positive words bring positive results, while negative words bring negative results. There is great power within our words.
The devil recognizes the power that’s in our mouths and so many times he convinces us to say the wrong words so as to derail us.
Note that every time you speak, people judge you by what you say. Friend, watch what you say; guide your tongue.
