“O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;”

Psalm 107:1-2

Yesterday we discussed about glorifying God, what God is really expecting from us, today we will look briefly at giving thanks to Him.

The whole reason for saying thank you is to let the giver of a gift knows how much you appreciate the gift. G. B. Stern once said “silent gratitude is not much use to anyone”. William Arthur Ward said “feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”

Showing our gratitude is obviously important in our relationships to one another but it is even more essential in our relationship with God, as we think about the many blessings we have received; do we express our thanks to Him throughout the day?

This period especially, let us think about the amazing gift of His death and resurrection for forgiveness of our sins with our hearts bubbling in awe and thanksgiving. God’s highest Gift should awaken our deepest gratitude.

Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good and His mercy endures forever.
