“Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?”

1 Corinthians 1:20

There is treasure in the scripture, it is God’s inspired Word and it teaches us the way to abundant life. It is the source of a wisdom that goes beyond that of the wisest philosophers; our God is wiser than the wisest but we rarely acknowledge it in this day of technology and modernity.

The political and civil rights leaders of old did or said anything without referring to the Bible, they used the scripture to back up their ideologies and beliefs. David Brooks, a ‘The New York Times’ columnist extolled the biblical wisdom of Martin Luther King Jr., he said religion did not just make civil rights leaders stronger but it also made them smarter. He said “Biblical wisdom is deeper and more accurate than the wisdom offered by the secular social sciences.”

Where are we drawing our source of wisdom from? Are we drawing on the source of God’s infallible Words in our lives or from the society? Friends, we need the Scripture’s wisdom to deal with our personal problems and political issues.

If we study and obey the Bible, we will be able to humbly testify with the Psalmist in Psalm 119:99; “I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.”

One truth from the Bible is worth more than all the wisdom of man. Be wise, study the Word of God and meditate on it daily and it shall guide you to all truth.
