“Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”

Exodus 4:12

God knows exactly what He is doing when He puts His hand upon someone, choosing that person for service. Have you felt that perhaps God was calling you to serve Him in some specific way, perhaps as a missionary, a pastor, or some other calling? Have you hesitated because you assume that God just couldn’t be calling you? Perhaps you have been convinced that you are too old or perhaps you are sure that you do not have enough talent, or you are not outgoing enough. When the Lord pricks your heart you respond by telling Him that He must have the wrong person. Reasoning like this causes people to miss God’s best for their lives.

Our impairments, our disabilities, or our handicaps are not just accidents; they are God’s designed. He uses every one of our flaws for His glory. God’s way of dealing with what we call limitations is not to remove them but to endow them with strength and use them for good.

Moses put up quite a fuss when God called him to lead the people of Israel out of captivity. “And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And the Lord said unto him, who hath made man’s mouth? Or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Have not I the Lord?” (Exodus 4:10-11)

In the new testament, Apostle Paul referred to an unspecified ‘thorn in the flesh’ that he repeatedly asked the Lord to take from him (2 Corinthians 12:7-8) but God said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Paul even learn to take pleasure in his troubles, he said “most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me, for when I am weak then I am strong.”

Friends, no more excuses, it is God that calls and He will enable. His strength is best seen in our weaknesses. Therefore go in His strength and grace, He shall be with you.
