“Take up the whole armour of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Ephesians 6:13

“Stand up; stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the cross! Lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss. From victory unto victory His army shall He lead till every foe is vanquished And Christ is Lord indeed” is the 1st stanza of a hymn.

In Christendom today, there is urgent need for all believers to stand up for Jesus and against the enemy in these days of perilous times. The enemy is attacking us and causing many of us to give up and stop fighting. The enemy is tearing our families apart. The enemy is causing enormous terrorist attacks and it’s not just against our nation as a whole but more importantly against every believer. And while the battle is intensifying a many of our fellow Christian soldiers have gone ‘awol’ from the army of Jesus.

Well, what do you do when in battle? Do I run to the battle? Do I run from the battle? Apostle Paul says we should take on the whole armour of God and after we are done we should stand. We can put on and clothe ourselves all day long with armour God provides but what good is it if we’re running from the battle instead of standing in the midst of the battle.

One of the biggest defeats we face as believers is the defeat of stooping at standing time. Instead of standing, we sit down on God. Instead of standing we give up. And this is where Satan wants us to be. We need people who will stand and keep on standing in all situations and circumstances. These are evil days, days when we need believers across the world standing and not stooping.

The armour we are given in our spiritual warfare is the Word of God and prayer. The Psalmist says in Psalm 1:1-3 “Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly nor stands in the way of sinners nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in His law does he meditate day and night. And He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of living water that brings forth much in its season.”
