Thursday, July 22nd  Be Compassionate

In our world today, we have to look to see compassion among the general populous. Often though, we do see signs of compassion among the people, youth helping the elderly. Men stopping to change a flat tire for a helpless traveler, usually a lady. We often confuse generosity and compassion; compassion will cause you to act upon your generosity. Generosity comes from one’s compassion, and compassion is in dire need in our world today.

Jesus was moved with compassion. Lost souls moved Christ to cry out to them, to seek them, to save them. Compassion will move you to do something for those upon whom you have that compassion, and surely Jesus moved for these lost sheep by surrendering His life’s blood on the cross to provide forgiveness for sin. He died for you and He died for me upon that cross. Then He rose from the dead to show victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil. He told us in John 3, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but has everlasting life.

Do you know His compassion in your life? Do you have compassion for those who are lost in sin, or do you just hate them. Remember my dear friend that you and I were once lost as they are today, and it is our job to tell them that there is forgiveness in Christ.

Jesus had compassion for those who were hungry; Jesus had compassion for those who were hungry.

Jesus had compassion for the blind. Many are blind among us, not in the physical sense, but spiritually blind. Jesus can touch both, the physical and the spiritual. Jesus has compassion on you if you are blind my friend, and He will open your eyes to His person if you will come with a penitent heart and receive his gift of eternal life.
