“But I have prayed for you; that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”

Luke 22:32

Remember Satan is on a mission to take us out but the great news is that Jesus is on our side and He is still praying for us. Satan in his temptations strikes principally at the faith of God’s people because faith is our foundation of our spiritual house. By faith we believe that Jesus is the Son of the living God, by faith we believe that His blood covers all of our sin and by faith we believe that He arose on the third day, by faith we believe He is at the Father’s right hand, By faith we believe that He will come again for His children who love and serve Him, and by faith we believe that Jesus Christ one day will thrown Satan in the Lake of Fire forever.

Science Digest reports that freshly picked berries are processed by pouring them down a series of step like boards. At each level, only those berries that bounce over an 8- to 10-inch barrier pass the quality test.

Christians face a “bounce test” too. The strength of their faith can be measured by their ability to bounce back after a fall. Although failure is painful, it offers an occasion to reaffirm our heart’s devotion to Christ.

Jesus knew that the apostle Peter was about to trip over his own self-confidence and zeal by denying Him. Yet the Lord saw beyond this devastating failure to the disciple’s repentance and restoration. When He assured Peter that He had prayed that his faith would not fail, He was saying, in effect, “Peter, you will bounce back after your fall.”

If you’ve had a spiritual reversal, don’t give up. Christ can restore you. You can be useful to Him again, even after a hard fall. It’s the “bounce” of your faith and God’s forgiveness that will enable you to go on. The Lord may allow us to fall down so that we’ll learn to look up. Losses and mistakes happen in life but don’t let it cause eternal failure.

Jesus says to Peter to strengthen other believers, Hebrews 12:12 “Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees.” Another duty that you are to do as a follower of Jesus is to strengthen those around you. Who are you strengthening with your words, actions, and deeds?

The true way that the church body will be strengthened is by encouraging one another.
