Monday, July 12th  – Live Like A Royalty

Have you ever thought you might be the long-lost heir to someone’s fortune? There may be thousands of dollars out there just waiting for you to claim them. Unfortunate and sad as it is to live not knowing you have a fortune waiting for you is the fact that a multitude of people live daily unaware of their divine inheritance.

There is an ancient story about a man named Astyages who determined to do away with a royal infant named Cyrus. He called an officer of his court and told him to kill the baby prince. The officer inturn delivered the baby prince to a herdsman with instructions that he should take him to a mountain top and leave him there to die from exposure.

The herdsman and his wife, however, took the child and raised him up as their own. Growing up in the home of those humble peasants, he naturally thought that they were his real parents. He was ignorant of his royalty and his kingly lineage because he thought he was a peasant and so he lived like one.

Many of us, Christians fail to realize the royal heritage that is ours in Christ. They live as spiritual slaves when they should be living royally. According to Galatians 3:26 believers are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus; verse 6 of our chapter today says because we are sons (including daughters), God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts whereby we can cry “Abba Father”.

We are all sons and daughters of God ONLY through God’s generosity and mercy. God has liberated us from slavery by sending the Son to invade our prison and set us free, bringing us all into God’s family. Vs. 7 “So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir.”

God has given us everything we need to live victorious fulfilling lives. Let us live no longer like slaves. A child of the king should reflect his father’s character. You are a child and not a slave therefore live like one.
